University of Nsukka at 50: Nkoli Ka

by NEWS
African Artists Foundation and the University of Nsukka will on June 23, 2017, hold a commemorative round table that spans the growth of art in Nigeria and the legacy of the last 50 years.
This jubilee celebration is themed Nkoli Ka meaning “recalling is greatest”. According to Chinua Achebe, “It is the story that outlives the sound of war drums and the exploits of brave fighters… The story is our escort, without it, we are blind.” The story of the department of fine and applied arts, as well as the University of Nsukka is long, ambitious and inspiring. It affords one the opportunity to reflect on previous achievements and face the future with superlative optimism.
