GTBank’s Maiden Food & Drink Fair

As a lover of all things culinary and an ardent follower of Chopped, finding out that renowned, best-selling author and restaurateur, Marcus Samuelsson, an Ethiopian-born, Swedish-raised chef, and the winner of a James Beard Award, will be in Lagos at the Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos, from May 1-2, is surreal. GTBank Plc, as part of its commitment to support small businesses and promote our rich heritage, will be showcasing a diverse culinary mosaic that is uniquely offered in Nigeria as a leading destination for food enthusiasts all over the world, via a 2-day weekend event themed the GTBank Food & Drink Fair.
First of its kind, the Food & Drink Fair will also be headlining Nigerian-born, internationally acclaimed Raphael Duntoye, a chef patron and owner of Le Petite Maison in London, Dubai and Miami.
Both Samuelsson and Duntoye will be spearheading the Cooking Masters classes, accompanied by Tiyan Alile, the President of the Culinary Arts Practitioners Association in Nigeria and the founder of the Culinary Academy. The event is also having a special and thoughtful package for children, I Can Bake Masters Class Series, and a dedicated play area, to be hosted by Chef Uzo Orimalade.
The masters classes will also be hosted by top rated Nigerian chefs including Gbubemi Fregene (Chef Fregz), Ozoz Sukoh, Alex Oke, Atim Ukoh, Iquo Ukoh, Michael Elegbede and Uzo Orimalade. They will demonstrate to live audiences modern tricks, which can be applied to classic Nigerian cuisine.
Of course, attendance is free and everyone will be treated to savoury food and wine tastings, as well as food conversations with some of the finest culinary maestros in Nigeria.
