FUNKE BUCKNOR-OBRUTHE AT SURULERE PREMIERE

by Ladun Ogidan
For a long time to come, events queen Funke Bucknor-Obruthe will keep people talking about the premiere of the very well received film Surulere, produced by Mildred Okwo.
On February 12, guests, cast and crew alike, turned out in their numbers, gaily dressed in ethnic fabrics to complement the theme, Africa Glam.
Indeed, tongues are still wagging at the breathtaking ‘African-style’ decor put together by Bucknor-Obruthe, who pulled an enchanting evening together with soft diffused lighting, artificial palm trees, elegant table settings with beautiful centrepieces, and a chocolate fountain.
Funke Bucknor-Obruthe is the visionary Creative Director of Zapphire Events, which she established in 2003. With an emphasis on making each event distinct, unique and tasteful, Zapphire has since become the industry benchmark for planning all types of events. Zapphire focuses on event consulting, marketing and management, and has a staff strength of over 10 events co-ordinators and 200 liaison staff.
