Eyo Festival: The [email protected] Celebration

The [email protected] Eyo Festival is scheduled for Saturday May 20, 2017, at the Iga Iduganran for the procession and conclude at the Tafawa Balewa Square for the Eyo parade. The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu II while speaking at a press conference in Ilupesi Square, Lagos Island on Thursday May 18, cautioned residents of Lagos and visitors against putting on shoes, and wearing head gears at the venue. He informed the public that adequate security as well as free transportation to the venue would be provided.
The Oba of Lagos added that the Eyo Festival aims at enhancing tourism as visitors all over the world would be in attendance to witness the occasionally important event. According to Oba Rilwan Akiolu II, The Eyo Festival is being held as part of the [email protected] celebrations to honour illustrious sons of Lagos including His Royal Highness, the Late Elegushi of Ikate, Oba Yekinni Elegushi (Kusenla II) and the deceased Co-Chairman, [email protected] Committee, Mr. Rasheed Gbadamosi.
