Over the weekend, Bez treated guests to a sensational blend of sounds, as well as a breath-taking feature with Simi from his soon to be released album ‘Gbagyi Child’.
Hosted by Bolanle Olukanni at The Fuse Lounge, Lagos, the event was attended by media personalities including Timi Dakolo, Kunbi Oyelese, Seyi Shay, Falz, Audu Maikori, Toke Makinwa, Kaylah Oniwo, Makida Moka, OC Ukeje, Ozzy Agu, Lala Akindoju, Olisah Adibua, and of course the lovely and supportive Mrs Tito Idakula.
‘Gbagyi Child’ is produced by Cobhams Asuquo and features diverse sounds with different origins and stories. “The album took two years to create” Bez revealed during a question and answer segment. Featured tracks include Hold You Down, If to Say, You Suppose Know, There’s a Fire, Breathe, and Eternity. Interestingly, some of the songs were made by infusing the traditional drum sounds obtained in Bez’s village in Nassarawa, while the others result from collaborating with Beyonce’s percussionist Marcie Chapa.
‘Gbagyi Child’ is a live-recorded album scheduled for release this November.
