Ayọ̀ Akínwándé

Ayọ̀ Akínwándé is an artist, architect, curator, and writer based in Lagos, Nigeria. His practice is multi-disciplinary, embracing lens-based media, installation, sculpture, sound, and performance. He co-curated the 2017 Lagos Biennial. In 2018, he was an ArtX Prize and ABSA L’Atelier Art Competition finalist. The following year, he presented solo exhibitions in Nigeria, Scotland, Canada, and Cuba for the 13th Bienal De La Habana. Akínwándé was awarded the 2019 Place Publique residency prize by the Fonderie Darling.
