ARTHOUSE FOUNDATION CALLS FOR APPLICATIONS

by NEWS
With a newly renovated building in the heart of Ikoyi, Lagos, the Arthouse Foundation offers residency for two artists simultaneously throughout the year. It is a newly created non-profit initiative of Arthouse Contemporary, West Africa’s leading auction house of modern and contemporary art.
The Arthouse Foundation aims to encourage the creative development of contemporary art in Nigeria by providing a platform for artists to expand their practice and experiment with new forms and ideas. It also embraces contemporary art as an educational model to engage communities, promote social dialogue and advance the critical discourse of artistic practices.
This call for applications is open to local and international visual artists and curators who wish to engage a new artistic project within the city of Lagos. With three-month sessions in the Spring and Fall, the Arthouse Foundation provides artists live/work space and logistical support for the creation of a new artistic project, along with an intensive public programme that includes workshops, artist talks, and a final exhibition.
The residency dates are:
Spring 2016 Session | April 18 – July 22, 2016
Fall 2016 Session | September 12 – December 16, 2016
