African Artists Make Strong Showing At Art Dubai
The 10th edition of Art Dubai, leading international art fair in the Middle East, takes place from March 16 to 19, at the Madinat Jumeirah.
This year’s line up features 16 established African artists such as Abdoulaye Konaté, (Mali) Barthelemy Toguo, (Cameroon), Nandita Kumar, (Mauritius), George Afedzi Hughes, (Ghana), Joel Andrianomearisoa, (Madagascar), Nnenna Okore (Nigeria/Australia), Ibrahim El Salahi (Sudan), Geoffrey Mukasa (Uganda).
Held in partnership with The Abraaj Group and sponsored by Julius Baer and Piaget, Art Dubai presents a select, yet diverse line-up of around 90 galleries from the UAE and around the world, across three programmes: Contemporary; Modern, devoted to masters from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia; and Marker, a curated section of art spaces that focuses each year on a particular theme or geography.
