Addis Foto Fest 2016

The fourth edition of the Addis Foto Fest will take place from December 15 to 20, 2016 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Founded by leading contemporary photographer Aida Muluneh, the week-long event will feature one hundred and twenty-six photographers from across the world documenting stories and expressions that recall memories, places and spaces that shape their individual identities, the major criterion for selection for the festival.
An official schedule for the event is available on the Addis Foto Fest official website. Each day has been carefully segmented into featured exhibitions, portfolio reviews, a conference, a discussion panel, a live performance and exhibition at Fendika, the inauguration of Photography in Ethiopia (PIE), an exclusive collection of Ethiopian photography, as well as the inaugural Addis Foto Fest Awards ceremony, at Marriott Executive Apartments in Addis Ababa. Winners will walk away with mouth-watering prices.
Since its inception in 2010, the Addis Foto Fest has given hundreds of emerging photographers a chance to showcase their craft, while engaging with international curators, scouts and professional photographers. Over 20,000 members have participated in all previous editions.
This edition aims to encourage, educate, and to engage a larger audience not only through the local exhibitions in several venues around Addis Ababa, but also through the promotion of activities via prevalent online networks and Addis Foto’s media partnerships across the global photography community.
