The 5th QDance Session took place at Freedom Park, Lagos Island on recently. It was planned for the Lagos Book and Art Festival and featured dance, music, improvisation and jam sessions. The session is a performance lab, which is a semi-curated gathering of people from all walks of life for a moment of creativity, a moment where the artistes and the guests live together in the now.


Qudus Onikeku, founder and creative director of QDance Centre organised the session. He is an internationally trained dance artiste and has featured in, choreographed and produced shows such as We Almost Forgot, as well as several QDance sessions.


Qdance will be holding its annual dance gathering titled Lagos Contemporary Dance Gathering. It will hold from February 20 until March 5, 2017 and is open to emerging choreographers and art administrators. Application closes on December 31, 2016.

Ateroghene Almaz Akpojiyovbi holds a first degree in Social Science - with majors in both Law and Psychology from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands.
