25 – An Auction of Contemporary Art

The Bag Factory in partnership the ABSA Gallery and Strauss & Co will be hosting 25 – An Auction of Contemporary Art on Thursday, November 17 at the ABSA Gallery from 6.30pm. The auction aims to provide buyers with an opportunity to purchase the best contemporary work currently available on the market.

The work will be available to preview at the gallery from Thursday, November 10. The auction contains contemporary work that has either never been seen or created especially for this auction by some of South Africa’s leading artists including Benon Lutaaya, Deborah Bell, Sam Nhlengethwa, Nelson Makamo.

Since inception 25 years ago, the Bag Factory has been an incubator and catalyst for artists such as David Koloane, Blessing Ngobeni, Benon Lutaaya and Patrick Mautloa.

Ateroghene Almaz Akpojiyovbi holds a first degree in Social Science - with majors in both Law and Psychology from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands. She has also earned a Post-graduate Diploma in Psychology from Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom. She enjoys a widespread genre of music - from Broadway show tunes to rock, and spends her time updating her collection.
